Philipsburg - Exactly six months after the pilot project ended, the St. Maarten Job Kiosk (The Kiosk) will be officially re-launching its new and improved website on June 1st, 2012. The Kiosk previously operated from December 2010 to November 2011, servicing job seekers at home and abroad. Many job seekers found the Kiosk to be a valuable resource for job matching, personal career guidance and answers to employment related questions. The Kiosk is now emerging as St. Maarten’s own One-Stop Online Career Center.
The Kiosk now showcases new features, tools and resources that will make the quest for employment easier for job seekers, and promises to make life easier for local and regional recruiters, Human Resource Professionals, local job agencies and employers. The new website serves as a central point for the employer to organize, manage and track jobs and resumes.
The Kiosk provides a platform for employers to reach out locally and globally to qualified job candidates. It allows the employer to search, find, screen and even rate resumes. Other features include, to name a few, being able to schedule (telephone) interviews, perform reference and background checks, create contact lists, create resume alerts, organize applicant’s information and generate job reports - all from one central on-line point.
All job and resume data is conveniently stored online for easy access and is password protected. Employers and job candidates will be able to download employment related forms directly from the Kiosk. As an added bonus, the Kiosk now has a new mobile site which makes the website accessible from most smartphones – very convenient for checking jobs or resumes while on the go. Other special features include a Forum, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), Job Alerts and RSS capabilities.
The project has received new sponsorship, thereby making the relaunch and make-over possible. The Kiosk can now continue to offer free basic service packages to site users. The Kiosk proudly extends its services to include Dutch and French St. Martin, the Dutch Caribbean and other neighboring islands. With the new website, the Kiosk and its key sponsor is hereby reinforcing a commitment to help our people find suitable employment, especially among our youth, resulting in a lower unemployment rate for St. Maarten.
This is what job seekers and even employers on St. Maarten have been waiting for – a virtual one-stop on-line career center - open and free to all. Registration is already open to job seekers. Recruiters, employers, Human Resource professionals and local job agencies are invited to register, post jobs and utilize the free tools and resources available to them at the Kiosk. The Kiosk is a service oriented project that does not operate for profit. The website can be found at www.jobkiosk.org. Send questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
